No tickets for the Caminito let online? If this has happened to you but you don’t want to miss out on this attraction, here are some options available to you:
Rise and shine!
We have personally tried this option and it worked perfectly. The only downside is you have to get up rather early, although you can always stay in the local area.
The first time slot available for access with tickets is 9.30am. However, if you get there, on time, for 8.30am you will be allowed entry even if you haven’t purchased a ticket in advance. Yes, getting up early is required! Don’t worry as there isn’t a large amount of people at that time and you are guaranteed entry, except on rare occasions when there are too many people. We don’t recommend this option for summer or high season weekends.
Of all the possibilities that we suggest, the previous option is the safest bet. However, we have a Plan B, but remember that El Caminito del Rey Walkway isn’t open to the public on Mondays and if there is bad weather (wind or rain) it will also be closed.
Every day at the first time slot for official access, meaning at 9.30am, a limited number of tickets are made available for sale at the ticket office at El Caminito del Rey Walkway itself. This is your chance to buy a ticket at the last minute.
There are still other options!
We have gone to El Caminito del Rey Walkway during the day and asked if there is availability at certain times and they have allowed us to purchase tickets. Easy, right? This option is less reliable than those previously mentioned and may not always work, but you can try it, especially during the week and low season. If you go and they don’t allow you entry, you can make the most of the day with a spot of relaxation and swimming in the El Chorro area.
Note: We do not recommend this one in high season. Especially on Holy Week dates (the week of April 14 to 22, 2019) or on summer weekends.
Buy a tour and drive your car!
In cases where there is a customer who has rented a car or is coming from other cities, it is possible to buy a tour to El Caminito del Rey and not use the transport included. It is a perfect option for those who don’t want to miss El Caminito del Rey and can not find single tickets.
We also have a new trip that doen’t include transport (if there are not availability, remember to check our tours with transport or contact us): see the tour
